When connected with a building, those two words are synonymous with lung problems, organ damage, and A BIG PROBLEM.
Out of all the toxic molds, black toxic mold is the most well-known because there have been so many cases of black toxic mold problems in houses, devastating the residents’ health. (http://blacktoxicmolds.com/)
I know… the easy solution = don’t breathe! HA!
More from that fascinating website:
When black toxic mold spores are still inside the mold colony they are held inside a gelatinous mass which prevents them from escaping into the air. These spores can be released though if the black toxic mold is disturbed…
Undisturbed spores create no major health risk. They’re real, yet they are held from escaping, from creating havoc, from destroying lives. However, when disturbed, the spores are released to the air to fly viciously and voraciously, free to destroy lives.
In much the same way, Satan and his hosts of demons wait. They’re a real threat. They’re hungry. They’re seeking. They’re a massive force – a deadly enemy – looking… waiting… to be disturbed. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). That “someone to devour” is YOU. It’s ME.
Black mold lives in warm, dark moisture-laden areas. It grows in the darkness, ready to become a menace, a danger, a toxic. Black mold has been an issue since early Bible times. Satan’s realm is dark and feeds from darkness. It’s been a toxic danger since the serpent spoke to Eve in the Garden of Eden. It’s nasty, it’s mean, and it’s UGLY.
…and we can’t see it. Just like we can’t see the full toxicity of black mold, God’s Word says that we “wrestle… against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Eph. 6:12).
Like spores of black mold, Satan and his army are a very real threat. If you don’t disturb them, you may not feel significant effects. Undisturbed, their ugliness lies in waiting. The black mold spores remain dormant. Festering. It’s when the realm of darkness is disturbed by God’s people doing God’s work in God’s Name and for God’s glory that the menace is released. The war is on. Satan’s army fights an ugly, nasty battle for lives that disturb him. Making the earnest decision to disturb Satan’s realm brings war, and Satan’s realm can release a whole host of damaging toxins. Disappointment. Destruction. Devastation. Death.
Ruin. Like black mold, Satan ruins lives. But, there’s hope. HUGE HOPE. LASTING HOPE. ETERNAL HOPE! Regardless of what Satan’s arsenal may hold, God’s ultimate victory is secure. Like bleach on black mold, God delights in showing His glory, strength and ultimate power. The battle is on; God’s weapons are OURS.
“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11)
God’s children look forward to what’s coming at the end of the brief journey on earth. The battle may rage now, but the enemy will be defeated. No sickness. No sorrow. No sadness. Victory over the menace is coming.
