The Ambassador

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
(2 Corinthians 5:20)

Job titles mean a lot in this society. We claim our identity through the title placed on us through our vocation or career. As God’s chosen to take His gospel of reconciliation through His Son to the world around us, we have a variety of job titles. Chosen and elect. Called of God. But our greatest job title is spelled out in this verse:

 Ambassadors for Christ.

Ambassadors are representatives of the sovereign who sends them, the “stand in” for their own ruler in a foreign country. Christians have been called by their King to serve as ambassadors in a world that is in rebellion against Him, with the responsibility to bring a message of peace and of reconciliation. We are here to stand boldly for the One who redeemed us. We are here to serve humbly in the name of the One Who saved us. We are here to sacrifice our lives for the One Who came and died, so that we – and all who put their faith and trust in His Name – can have life in His Name. 🙂

 Ambassadors for Christ.

 Claim that title.

Stand. Serve. Sacrifice.

 You’re His ambassador.
Implore your world – on Christ’s behalf – to be reconciled to God.
