Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.
James 4:13-14 ESV
All it takes is one to make or break an emotion. All it takes is one to heal – or shatter a spirit. A series of snowballed moments can carry someone to all-new heights or depths, and one decisive moment can take someone over an edge if time has already cast moment after moment to crack a life.
A moment can send a crack rattling through a heart – or caulk through the cracks. A moment can take a life or save it. One moment can shatter glass into a million pieces – or stop the process just before the hit takes place.
The consequences of a moment can create a smile – a tear – laughter – confidence – or a hopelessly crushed spirit.
Where will your moments take you?
Will the moments that life throws unmercilessly tear you down – or will the disappointing moments make you stronger?
Will you choose to be a hammer to pound for a moment, or will you let God use you as a heating pad for a moment to soothe another’s pain? Will your moments be used to take someone else down – or will they be used to build others for God’s glory?
A moment. A choice. It can make all the difference in the world for a life.
A moment. Take it – seize it – use it – watch it go past for good or otherwise.
What will you do with the moments you have – and have to give?
