The Strength

Whom have I in heaven but you?
And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
– Psalm 73: 25-26

The word “Strength” in Hebrew can be translated rock.

Rock: solid, enduring, stable, protective, unwielding, immovable, solid.

Rock of Ages. Cleft for me! Let me hide myself in THEE.

Everything in life can collapse: things, friends, the stock market, your neighbor’s tree – on your house. God cannot. And when you put your faith, hope and trust in strength and in the solid faithfulness of GOD…

“Your portion forever.”
The strength you can hold onto for the moment, and forever.
